Get to know me

As a passionate naturalist, I find my greatest fulfillment in immersing myself in outdoor tasks that allow for direct interaction with the natural world. Whether it's studying the intricate patterns of plants, observing the behaviors of insects and birds, or simply breathing in the fresh air of the wilderness, I'm constantly energized by this tangible connection, filling me with boundless joy and vitality.

Throughout my career, I've primarily worked in research centres, where I gained extensive experience in biodiversity monitoring. I actively participated in multiple projects studying ecosystem services and ecosystem functioning, with a strong emphasis on botany and entomology fieldwork. Additionally, I volunteered in wildlife and plant conservation efforts, both in Europe and Southeast Asia. These experiences have broadened my knowledge across various topics and honed my adaptability. With a natural curiosity and a great desire to share knowledge of our world and universe, I always enjoy delving into new discoveries and relish the opportunity to ignite the same sense of wonder in those around me. My ultimate aim is to utilize my skills in biodiversity conservation to underscore its importance and promote global sharing of experience.

Equipped with my camera and favourite lenses, I strive to document the unfiltered beauty of moments unfolding naturally on our planet. My photography isn't about creating artifice; rather, it's about authentically sharing the scenes that appear before me. I maintain a steadfast commitment to capturing genuine moments without resorting to artificial staging, all while being mindful of minimizing any impact on the surrounding ecosystem. This includes trimming vegetation that could block the view of my subject, as well as manipulating arthropods by freezing them (to temporarily slow their movement) or applying a misting spray (to simulate dew), and avoiding intrusions into sensitive habitats like nesting sites. I only make exceptions to this late point because of my professional responsibilities and with official permissions. Let's respect this beautiful world that we inhabit as best we can and prioritize the well-being of other living forms over certain photographic opportunities.
